Schedule: 1st shift (7:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.), 2nd (3:00 P.M. - 11:00 P.M.) or 3rd (11:00 P.M. - 7:00 A.M.) COP A/B C/D (7:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.) (7:00 P.M. - 7:00 A.M.)


Day-to-Day Role:

  • Uses analytical troubleshooting skills to make repairs and corrections based on observation of equipment in operation and product defects.
  • Dismantles defective machinery and equipment to gain access to problem area or to install new or repaired parts.
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems. Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Realigns and adjusts machine components.
  • Tests machines following repairs to ensure good product quality prior to returning machine to service.
  • Inspects used parts to determine if they meet acceptable standards for use in equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of facility.
  • Assists in training lower level mechanics.
  • Performs preventive maintenance functions.
  • Assists in fabricating parts.
  • Orders parts as required and uses computerized maintenance system to keep accurate maintenance records.
  • Assists in rebuilding and overhaul of machinery.
  • Follows all safety, GMP's and BRC guidelines and company plant rules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Core Skills and Qualifications:


Dart has the ability to hire Maintenance Mechanics at Level I, Level II or Level III.


The ideal Level I Maintenance Mechanic candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Three (3) years mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to diagnose problems, repair, and maintain Facilities equipment.
  • Ability to maintain, operate, and repair industrial air compressors/vacuum pumps to 800 horsepower, industrial HVAC and water chilling systems to 300 tons, Facility automation systems and steam/hot water boilers to 300 hp.
  • Experience with industrial power and control electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to read industrial drawings and schematics.


The ideal Level II Maintenance Mechanic candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Three (3) years mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and analyze mechanical problems.
  • Ability to enter information and data on maintenance software.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.


The ideal Level III Maintenance Mechanic candidate must possess all of the following:

·         Five (5) years mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.

·         Diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills to analyze mechanical problems.

·         Computer skills.

·         Project management skills.

·         Ability to train and direct others in the work group.


All Maintenance Mechanic candidates must possess all of the following:

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature and pressure gauges.
  • Ability to provide own maintenance tools.
  • Ability to diagnose and analyze mechanical problems.
  • Ability to cover for vacations.
  • Ability to work the 12 hour night shift.
