Within this role you will be responsible for safely and efficient operation of dry off set or flexographic printers to produce a quality product.

We currently have openings on ALL SHIFTS!!!  

 

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements
  • Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards
  • Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Assist with setting-up, starting, adjusting, diagnosing, troubleshooting and properly shutting down process equipment in accordance with published production schedules and product specifications.
  • Assist with process machinery from raw materials through downstream finished goods
  • Perform general preventative maintenance on equipment (i.e. fill lube lines, lube chain rails, grease guns, etc.) as required
  • Maintain production logs and reports as required
  • Read and review daily production schedule, perform necessary line checks and assist with all types of changeovers including size and imprint changes on press.
  • Operate printing equipment as directed by supervisor or shift lead. Maintain accurate and timely production and quality records.
  • Monitor press output and visually inspects product for defects and quality issues.
  • Load and unload paper rolls, mount and shaft rolls, thread machine, maintain correct ink levels, colors and chemistry. Make necessary adjustments to ensure proper registration and maintain strict quality performance
  • Promptly notify the Maintenance Department of any maintenance required
  • Notify supervisor of significant deviations from normal operating conditions
  • Perfom back-up Inspector Packer responsibilities during break and lunch periods
  • Perform production process in SAP as required

 

Core Skills & Qualifications:

For All Levels:

  • Ability to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demonstrated and other workplace procedures
  • Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Familiar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic problems including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues

Preferred for all levels: 

  • Technical school or apprenticeship experience
  • Previous powered industrial truck experience 

Level I:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Six (6) months operating printing equipment or machine operations experience

 

Level II:

  • One (1) year experience operating printing equipment or operating manufacturing and process control equipment, or equivalent technical school or apprentice experience

Preferred:

  • Paper converting, chemical/plastics processing and/or packaging industrial experience

 

Level III:

  • Two (2) years of experience operating printing equipment or operating manufacturing and process control equipment or equivalent technical school or apprentice experience
  • Specific experience operating press and slitting machines
  • Advanced knowledge of machines and material processes
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints

Preferred:

  • Five (5) years’ experience operating printing equipment or operating manufacturing and process control equipment or equivalent technical school or apprentice experience,
  • Previous plant production software experience required, SAP experience 

 

Level IV:

  • Seven (7) years of experience operating printing equipment or operating manufacturing and process control equipment or equivalent technical school or apprentice experience
  • Expert knowledge operating specialist machines such as press and slitting machines
  • Expert knowledge of and ability to lead machine and material processes
  • Proficient in interfacing with computers and in problem solving
  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints
  • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities
  • Ability to utilize and train employees on technology, processes and procedures

Preferred:

  • Prior training experience 
  • Previous plant production software experience required, SAP experience
