Procurement Category Leader- Paper

This position is ideally based in Mason, MI, but candidates may also work out of our satalite office in Evanston, IL. 

As Category Leader you will lead a team responsible for the financial and operational performance within the paper commodity.

• Partner with end-to-end cross-functional teams and business commercial leaders to ensure lowest total cost of ownership for the company.
• Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for Paperboard, Fiber, and Corrugate.

Your performance will be measured based on total value creation: financial performance, quality, service, innovation, sustainability, sourcing strategy, and compliance adherence.

Core Skills and Qualifications

The ideal Paper Procurement Category Leader must possess all the following:

• Bachelor's degree
• Eight (8) years of experience in procurement, inventory management, supply chain, or relevant field
• Five (5) years of leadership experience including experience as a supervisor
• Experience and thorough knowledge in pulp and paper industry
• Proven leader in implementing change across a multi-location operations environment, including cross-functional team facilitation
• Detailed understanding and experience implementing best practices in the areas of purchasing and materials management
• Detailed understanding of purchasing-related documents such as purchase orders, requisitions, quotations, bills of lading, contracts, invoices, etc.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time domestically and internationally
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
• Favorable motor vehicle report upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain
• Master’s Degree with emphasis in Business, or Supply Chain
• SAP ERP or SAP Ariba application experience
