Dart Container is looking for a Quality Lead to join the team at our Kostner plant in Chicago, IL.


You will lead and coordinate the work of our Technicians responsible for inspecting, testing and analyzing the quality of our paper products and processes. Your team will look to you as a subject matter expert regarding our equipment and processes. You’ll provide technical support to Dart Engineers to achieve improvements in cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, and compliance standards and you’ll also collaborate with production personnel to gather information for drafting reports to improve our equipment, processes and products.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess the following:

  • Requires one of the following:
    • Associate’s degree with an emphasis in a quality control or engineering and six (6) years of manufacturing equipment and processes or quality experience, OR
    • High school diploma or equivalent and eight (8) years of manufacturing equipment and processes or quality experience
  • Demonstrated mastery in quality processes and procedures
  • Experience mentoring and reviewing technicians work
  • Extensive analytical experience including investigating issues, recognizing trends, and recommending solutions to non-routine complex quality issues
  • Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions
  • Experience using various statistical and quality methodologies including but not limited to Statistical Process Control (SPC), Statistical Quality Control (SQC), 5S, 8D, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), and Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Understand production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of products
  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes
  • Up to 5% domestic travel annually 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
