Day-to-Day Role:

  • Operate forklift equipment including electric forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
  • Service various production departments with packaging materials and raw materials. Load and unload trucks with said materials. Transport finished goods around plant.
  • Read schedules and accurately record movement of packaging materials on movement sheets using basic math to account for moving materials.
  • Maintain the forklift, lift and battery logs and reporting mechanical problems promptly.
  • Operate carousel, assist in clearing jams, palletize cases, wrap pallets, baler, trash compactor and run production tickets.
  • Coordinate with quality control to ensure that tagged products is held properly and accurately entered into the system.
  • Inventory materials on work floor and supplies workers on lines and or grinding area with materials as needed. Fill and maintain acceptable levels of supplies within equipment to ensure continuous operations.
  • Stack product in a uniform and damage free condition, reporting all problems to the appropriate people in order to minimize “system” damage.
  • Participate in small group improvement teams.
  • Work on the straight line BOP station and hand stacking when necessary
  • Follow Company policies and procedures as stated in the Company handbook and all safety guidelines.
  • Assist Plant Management in analyzing available space for materials and reposition materials in order to accomplish space needs. Notify receiving supervisors or clerks of the location of materials for inventory log.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Demonstrate minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
  • Pervious warehousing and forklift experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift license.
  • Basic forklift knowledge and familiarity.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and BOP station
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations and maintain inventories.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.
