Forklift Operator

Walk in for an on-the-spot interview at our Dallas location, 4444 W Ledbetter Dr. Dallas, TX 75236, every Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm. 

Responsible for a wide variety of general material handling duties, including sorting and stacking product and movement of raw materials and finished goods through the plant using Powered Industrial Truck (PIT). Reports non-conformances concerning product safety, quality and legality. 

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Operate forklift equipment including electric forklifts and electric pallet jacks
  • Service various production departments with packaging materials and raw materials. Load and unload trucks with materials. Transport finished goods and/or scrap around plant
  • Read schedules and accurately record movement of packaging materials on movement sheets using basic math to account for moving materials
  • Responsible for the general maintenance of the forklift, lift and battery logs and reporting mechanical problems promptly
  • Operate carousel, assist in clearing jams, palletize cases, wrap pallets, baler, trach compactor and run production tickets
  • Coordinate with Quality Control to ensure that tagged products are held properly and accurately entered into the system
  • Inventory materials on work floor and supply workers on lines and/or grinding area with materials as needed. Fill and maintain acceptable levels of supplies within equipment to ensure continuous operations
  • Stack product in a uniform and damage free condition, reporting all problems to the appropriate people in order to minimize “system” damage
  • Participate in small group improvement teams
  • Assist Plant Management in analyzing available space for materials and reposition materials in order to accomplish space needed. Notify receiving supervisors or clerks of location of materials for inventory log
  • Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.
  • Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards
  • Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess the following:

  • Six (6) months relevant warehouse and/or forklift experience 
  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
  • Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) license
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations and dimensional counting skills
  • May be required to work additional hours including weekends, holidays, and/or overtime
