Create and maintain short and long-term production schedules as well as finite line schedules. Provide accurate raw material signals across the MRP planning horizon which support production plan and schedule requirements.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Comply with good manufacturing practices (GMP) as required.
  • Comply with Dart Container's policies and procedures.
  • Create finite schedule and supply plans while considering SAP plan, finished goods, WIP, forecasted demand, customer orders, dependent demand, replenishment orders, plant capacity, cycling plans, Manufacturing efficiencies and various other dependencies.
  • Review and validate monthly SAP production plans.
  • Develop and maintain plant production schedules which support SAP production / inventory plans.
  • Create, review and maintain manufacturing work orders which support plant schedule.
  • Create, review and maintain raw material signal across the MRP planning horizon which supports SAP production plan and plant schedule requirements.
  • Work closely with Planning and Manufacturing to manage resource utilization, plant efficiencies, and customer service goals. Work with multiple departments to implement corrective actions due to supply and/or demand variances to plan.
  • Identify conditions that could impact either the SAP production plan or Finite Schedule from Plant Management / Purchasing to proactively develop and communicate contingency plans and priorities.
  • Work with multiple departments to coordinate proper inventory mix, new business launches, lost business phase outs, phase out/phase in transitions, promotional requirements and prioritizations to support company goals and objectives while servicing customer requirements.
  • Promptly investigates and responds to Customer Service, Planning and Deployment requests with reliable information and communicates updates as required.
  • Review daily exception reports and updates production schedules.
  • Act as a liaison between Manufacturing and Corporate functions and represents the Scheduling department on inter-department teams.
  • Participate in Process Improvement projects when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to work weekends as needed
  • High School Diploma
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Three (3) years of related experience in a planning, scheduling and/or manufacturing environment

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in related field
  • APICS certification
  • Experience with planning or scheduling systems or SAP
