Day-to-Day Role:

  • Comply with good manufacturing practices (GMP) as required.
  • Comply with Dart Container's policies and procedures.
  • Perform the functions of the QC Inspector on a daily basis as well as provide guidance to new and/or existing Q.C. Inspectors in the proper inspection of finished products (cups, bowls, plates, etc.) visually or by using calibrated measuring and monitoring equipment. Visually check materials for correct color.  Provide guidance to QC Inspectors in the adherence of department procedures and work instructions.  
  • Work with inspectors to ensure a safe work environment. Provide guidance to perform job duties in a safe manner and to correctly identify and report any unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Monitor Quality Hold Area to ensure all held products are effectively evaluated and processed efficiently to minimize internal callbacks.      
  • Train operators on quality procedures and SPC as needed.
  • Monitor and check machine operator’s reports for completeness and accuracy. Check data collection forms for accuracy and timeliness of inspections.  
  • Conduct packaging verification checks by auditing packaging reports for completeness and accuracy.
  • Communicate shift work assignments and issues with other Lead Quality Control Technicians, Group Lead and department management.
  • Initiate hold and rework procedures as required.  Work with production staff to aid in the identification and correction of quality problems. Communicate quality problems and product status to management.  Provide assistance and guidance to the Quality Inspectors in making decisions regarding quality issues. Guide employee to strategize resolution and raise issues to next level, if necessary.
  • Monitor, promote and demonstrate clean work space adherence
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.
  • Three (3) years quality inspection process experience
  • Ability to work with individuals or groups and to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work load.
  • Microsoft Word skills to include the ability to open, close, create, edit and save documents.
  • Microsoft Excel skills to include the ability to create basic spreadsheets, open, close, edit, (e.g., cut, paste, insert and delete rows) and save spreadsheets.
  • Mathematical skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and ongoing communication about safety and quality issues.
  • Ability to demonstrate written communication precisely and effectively with extreme accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a professional manner and promote team work.
