Payroll Administrator

How would you like to join a dynamic company in Ft. Lauderdale? This is a hybrid position, with two days a week in the office and three days a week working remote.  

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Prepare and process biweekly payroll for 300+ employees. Review and ensure accuracy and approved timesheets are reflected correctly in the payroll system. Ensure any additional payments are applied correctly. Track and ensure deductions take place for any garnishments or other deductions. Maintain, collect, calculate, and balance payroll information.
  • Maintain assigned areas of the payroll module, including establishing the annual payroll cycle, creating and assigning income and deduction codes, processing employee specific deduction changes related to exemptions, withholdings, retirement plan contributions, processing requests for direct deposit, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with other company Payroll personnel to provide and share information relevant to completing assigned payroll tasks. This may include advisement of new local tax deductions that need to be established, notification of wage garnishments, responding to W-2 inquiries, reporting miscellaneous deductions so they can be appropriately classified, etc.
  • Administer assigned components of HRIS systems, programs, and processes according to established policies, procedures and/or laws. May include organizational management, personnel administration, analytics, time & attendance management, expense reporting management, onboarding, income statement management, payroll systems management, and future systems implemented.
  • Assist with bonus calculations and eligibility. Collaborate with business intelligence and bonus teams in support of these efforts.
  • Develop an understanding of HR project management by representing the department on teams that implement system enhancements and help manage the project plan.
  • Complete assigned Accounting support functions. 
  • Develop and document efficient and thorough processes and procedures to support assigned activities. 
  • Produce/ maintain documentation, files or reports as needed to meet company and/or legal requirements
  • Consistently maintain absolute confidentiality and professionalism with employee records, files and information handled.
  • Complete position related administrative tasks such as correspondence, reports, filing, organizing, mailings, telephone communications, copying, etc. according to established company policies and procedures. 
  • Take action to help ensure integrity in systems and processes.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for data and reports utilizing appropriate reporting tools.
  • Analyze both numeric and non-numeric data to identify trends, problems, and propose solutions.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Requires the following:

  • Associate's degree with (2) years experience using HR Master Data system, or administering HR technology/programs. 
  • Two years of payroll processing experience. Multi-state payroll administration experinece preferred.  
  • Microsoft Excel skills to include the ability to create and generate spreadsheets
  • Accurate data entry and proofreading skills
  • Experience with SAP/HCM a plus
  • Good organizational skills
  • Intermediate to advanced language skills (reading, writing, and speaking) with an emphasis on professional business language is required
