An electronic tech safely and timely performs all preventative and repairs of electronic/electrical maintenance on all equipment to maximize product quality and efficiency.  

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Comply with good manufacturing practices (GMP) as required.
  • Comply with Dart Container's policies and procedures.
  • Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards, and serve the needs of our customers. This includes a commitment to a process of continuous improvement.
  • Toubleshoot, diagnosis and repair any electronic/electrical problems with equipment/machinery.  
  • Toubleshoot, diagnosis and repair AC/DC motors and drive systems.
  • Performs maintenance on facility electrical systems to include lighting, outlets, HVAC and ventilation systems.
  • Repair solid-state electronic components.
  • Draw electrical schematics.
  • Understand precedence relationships (e.g. sequence of events).
  • Complete root cause analysis and recommend solutions.
  • Perform other duties within the employee’s training and skills as directed by the supervisor and/or manager.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to work weekends as needed
  • Electronic Tech Degree (from a credited college and/or vocational tech school)
  • Three (3) years of electronic/electrical hands-on experience
  • Three (3) years of experience working on and with PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers)
  • Three (3) years of experience working with pneumatics, hydraulics, and temperature gauges
  • Three (3) years of experience working with microprocessor hardware and software configurations
  • Five (5) years of experience in diagnosing and repairing electronic/electrical equipment or machinery
  • Ability to perform analog and digital circuit design
  • Ability to program Programmable Logic Controllers using basic and ladder logic, read/write wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints and analytical diagnosis or problems
  • Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Math skills to include intermediate level algebra
  • Departmental experience preferred (internal candidates)
  • SAP experience preferred
