Overview: We are seeking a skilled and driven Automotive Maintenance Supervisor to lead our diesel vehicle maintenance operations. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of mechanic activities, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards, and driving performance across safety, quality, efficiency, and service metrics.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise daily operations of automotive maintenance across multiple shifts.
  • Promote and enforce safety practices and compliance with laws, regulations, and company standards.
  • Lead by example to foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational targets are met.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues using root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Provide hands-on training and classroom instruction to mechanics.
  • Ensure mechanic performance aligns with company and regulatory standards.
  • Administer and track training materials and safety programs.
  • Participate in safety meetings and support company values and management expectations.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • High School diploma with 7 years of related experience, OR Associate degree in Vehicle Maintenance, Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, or related field with 5 years of industry experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience with strong leadership skills.
  • Certified for Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO).
  • Experience with diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and maintain composure under stress.
  • Proficient in English for effective training and communication.

Preferred attributes:

  • Valid Class B CDL (minimum age 18) or Class A CDL (minimum age 21).
  • At least 1 year of over-the-road tractor-trailer driving experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience servicing diesel engines
