Production Planner - Materials, 7:30a-4pm

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Execute the download requirements and provide the Corporate Planner and Purchaser with information in an effective and cost-efficient way. 
  • Manage forecast requirements. Monitor planned working calendar keeping information up to date while generating and analyzing available capacity. 
  • Create detailed production schedules. 
  • May be responsible for raw material inventory management including WIP, paper stock, packaging materials. 
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required. 
  • Comply with Dart Container’s policies and procedures. 
  • Comply with Dart Container’s Four Corporate Priorities:  Safety, Quality, Service, and Efficiency. 
  • Work with supervisors to ensure work stations run efficiently. 
  • Work with shipping to ensure the product is available for deliveries. 
  • Responsible for the daily production input and weekly production reports. 
  • Schedule daily machine run time and coordinating downtime for machine/bagger maintenance.
  • Shares overall responsibility for product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality systems. 
  • Coordinate with Quality Control to ensure efficiencies and quotas are met. 
  • Other duties assigned by Production/Plant Manager.

 

Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED and at least two (2) years of relevant production planning experience in a manufacturing environment and or training.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong math skills.
  • Must have analytical skills and reasoning ability.
  • Must be available to work holidays, overtime, and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to work in a “team-oriented” environment with excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle several things at one time – multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office Software - MS Word and MS Excel.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with SAP.
