The Project Engineer will lead utility and process improvement projects or phases of programs. This position is mostly self-directed, and the Project Engineer will develop solutions and recommend methods to improve overall production efficiencies.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Comply with good manufacturing practices (GMP) as required.
  • Comply with Dart Container's policies and procedures.
  • Perform the background research necessary to identify and propose potential efficiency improvements and utility expansion; including but not limited to financial analysis, production factors, and equipment layouts.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of equipment for new or existing production and warehouse sites.
  • Design and develop improvements to existing utility systems that are required to fulfill or improve production needs.
  • Coordinate the assembly, testing, and implementation of equipment or equipment upgrades.
  • Participate in the development of documentation packages, manuals, spare part recommendations, training information and safety procedures for new and existing equipment.
  • Provide technical expertise including research, training, troubleshooting, design reviews, and process recommendations for related equipment.
  • Coordinate the fabrication of components and/or equipment through internal and external sources.
  • Document and improve current processes and develop new solutions for new or existing plant utility requirements.
  • Create project requests and justifications for solving problems, improving designs, and addressing plant requests.
  • Travel to production facilities for as necessary to fulfill job requirements.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues.
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and at least three (3) years of related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience with spreadsheets and data analysis required.
  • Experience with AutoCad or related design program required.
  • Understanding and application of trigonometry and algebra required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport required.
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 30% of the time required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
