Truck Driver Trainee - Bonus Program Available

Complete required coursework, training and testing to obtain CDL.  Learn and perform all responsibilities of Forklift Operator and Yard Jockey.  Learn and perform Short Haul Driver responsibilities after obtaining CDL.


Day-to-Day Role

  • Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements. 
  • Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards 
  • Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) 
  • Attend CDL school and complete required coursework, training and testing to obtain CDL
  • Obtain and Maintain a Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC) & Class A CDL Permit while in CDL School
  • Learn and perform all responsibilities of Forklift Operator and Yard Jockey
  • Operate a forklift, yard truck or tractor with or without a trailer within Dart property lines, never traveling on a public roadway until CDL is obtained
  • Pass CDL Test and Obtain a Class A CDL
  • Learn and perform all responsibilities of Short Haul Driver after successfully obtaining CDL


Core Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Currently enrolled in an approved CDL School
  • Must be 21 years or older for interstate vehicle operation and 18 for intrastate vehicle operation
  • Clean driving record (no violations, citations or pending legal actions) for minimum of three (3) years
  • Physically qualified under US DOT regulations (part 391)
  • Ability to meet and maintain local, state, and federal regulations, DOT’s and FMCSA’s laws as required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) license 
  • Ability to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demonstrated and other workplace procedures 
  • Ability to meet safety, quality and service standards 
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills 
  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues 


Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Six (6) months prior warehouse, material handling or PIT operations experience
