Dart Container is seeking a solid relationship-builder to join our Foodservice Account Management team. In this position, you will experience a high-level of independent decision-making authority for important decisions that will impact our customer relationships as well as our overall business.  

 

Dart’s Account Managers team up with our Sales Representatives (as well as other departments) in providing outstanding service to our customers through confident decision-making in regards to pricing, contracts and other service matters. While you will be working quite closely with our Sales team, this is not a “Sales” position. We are seeking an analytical, detail-focused candidate who will enjoy evaluating market conditions and making decisions. As you become comfortable in your role, you will be given a higher level of responsibility and further growth opportunities by assisting with larger, corporate accounts and continuous improvement projects. 

 

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Analyze information provided by Dart field sales personnel pertaining to competitive products, competitive prices, and related terms and conditions of sale 

  • Make decisions concerning customer pricing, shipping requirements, terms and conditions of sales, and contract and bid pricing, using a strong understanding of the financial implications, market conditions, Dart philosophy, and Dart policies in the decision-making process 

  • Communicate and explain, with supporting rationale, pricing decisions and company pricing policies as well as related terms and conditions of sale to Dart field sales personnel and, on occasion, directly to customers 

  • Assist customers by resolving service-related issues beyond the authority of Dart customer service representatives, and handle other service issues when field sales personnel are unavailable and/or immediate action is required 

  • Receive field service reports from Dart field sales personnel relating to product quality and/or customer service. Gather and analyze reported information, and work with the Dart Salesforce to develop the optimal mutually acceptable solution for both the customer and Dart.  Make decisions and communicate to the Dart sales personnel and the customer 

  • Author and send customers price quotations, price contracts, and general customer service correspondence relating to pricing and general sales and service matters 

  • Resolve complex payment and deduction related issues working with internal business teams using root-cause analysis. 

 

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree 

  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal and external customers 

  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision 

  • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines 

  • Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities 

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to use independent judgement and make decisions with incomplete information 

  • Proven analytical problem solver able to troubleshoot unknown or previously undocumented issues. 

  • Must have ability to communicate and collaborate with other departments to gather and provide information 

  • Ability to identify issues, compare data, investigate, and resolve discrepancies 

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create professional reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, including proficiency with data manipulation and common Excel functions including XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and concatenate 

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field 

  • Business to business work experience
