Dart Container is seeking an Associate Finance Analyst to join our dynamic team to analyze cost components involved in the production and distribution of our products. These costs are used when making many key business decisions and identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce costs across the Company.

You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other departments, plant locations and distribution centers to analyze customer pricing and requested pricing for favorability using a variety of factors such as costs, pricing in the market and overall business portfolio. For this role we are looking for someone who is detail oriented, organized, a big picture thinker with analytical skills, and thrives in a work environment to problem solve and find solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn the company’s procedures, systems, structure, distribution channels, philosophies, and strategies
  • Obtain accurate and detailed information required for financial analysis and pricing decisions
  • Accurately complete a financial analysis of our cost to produce and distribute the product; provide clear and concise written summary of the situation with pricing recommendations which incorporate logic and the company's philosophies and strategies
  • Document pricing and other decisions according to department’s procedures
  • Act as an interface between departments through meetings, telephone contact, and written correspondence
  • Learn any relevant computer software used in the department
  • Assist with the new product development process, including preparation of financial analyses to evaluate potential projects
  • Accurately complete financial analyses to support Commercial Finance and the Business Teams on financial planning, budget adherence and financial performance of the respective areas
  • Accurately complete financial analyses and share with the Business Teams along with recommendations for profit improvement ideas such as cost reductions, SKU rationalizations, and pricing and trade spend actions
  • Provide basic analytical support to others in the department and the Business Teams by completing a wide variety of special projects as needed
  • Communicate professionally with Dart employees at all times

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field of study
  • Ability to complete work with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes, procedures, and decisions
  • Ability to utilize business sense and creativity to develop new ideas and solutions
  • Ability to demonstrate personal accountability, take ownership of work, and apply learned concepts
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must have ability to communicate and collaborate with other departments to gather and provide information
  • Ability to identify issues, compare data, investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
