In this role, you will be responsible for supervising and developing personnel and will also have the opportunity to provide financial analysis and support our salesforce and customers in order to advance the goals of the department and company.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Work closely with specific accounts (National, Foodservice, International, and Consumer Products), including completion of financial analyses, legal document review, credit issues, investigation of quality and service issues, and other projects, while incorporating logic and the company’s philosophies and strategies
  • Some decision making in regards to account situations (pricing, quality, promotional expenditures, etc.), new product development projects, product lines, and cost accounting, within the context of the company's policies, procedures, values and strategies
  • Responsible for defined areas of the cost accounting system
  • May serve as a Product Cost Analysis mentor by assisting Analysts with product cost analyst training, developing, coaching, directing, supporting, and providing feedback
  • Assist with various aspects of the new product development process, including preparation of financial analyses to evaluate potential projects, review of desired product FAB (features, advantages, and benefits), drawings, prototypes, and production samples, direction and documentation of meetings on product development issues, coordinating with all departments to ensure necessary tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Work closely with specific product lines, including completion of pricing analyses, recommendations, and implementation of decisions on marketing strategy issues such as product mix, market wide pricing, quality, service, cost improvement, and packaging
  • Support the salesforce and colleagues to gain and maintain profitable business
  • Control costs and support an overall cost control tone for staff
  • Keep management and key stakeholders informed of pertinent information and updates
  • Provide analytical support, complete special projects, and lead department sub-teams
  • Collaborate and foster relationships of corporate departments, sales and production plant functional areas

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field of study
  • Two (2) years of experience supporting decision making in finance or a general business role
  • Supervisory experience with strong leadership skills
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to recognize and solve challenges and implement solutions
  • Ability to operate with sense of urgency and focus on providing exceptionally reliable customer service
  • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience working with financial concepts such as net present value, sunk costs and other related analysis methods
  • Ability to be composed, adapt, and effectively manage tasks and projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities while meeting all assigned deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to clearly communicate intricate job related processes that ultimately affect decision making
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to be assertive, show initiative, demonstrate personal accountability, take ownership of work, and apply learned concepts
  • Ability to tactfully resolve problems and provide feedback
  • Ability to think strategically and for the long term
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets, in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive issues
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time domestically 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • SAP experience
