Endpoint Platform Engineer

You'll work a hybrid schedule of 3 days on site at our corporate office in Mason, Michigan, and up to 2 days remote.

Dart Container is looking for an  Endpoint Platform Engineer to join our team. In this role you will build, test, deploy, and maintain solutions to manage a fleet of "clients", or endpoints, at enterprise scale. You will act as a technical subject matter expert and technical liaison for Client Platform Engineering infrastructure. 

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Ensure all service requests are completed in a timely manner, delivering excellent customer service
  • Perform problem analysis and provide solutions and recommendations for technical issues that affect user experiences
  • Participate in projects with the information technology department and the project management office    
  • Accurately document incidents, processes, procedures, and user guides
  • Keep abreast of new technology developments and make recommendations regarding changes to current standards and solutions with a strategic eye for how they will impact Dart’s environment
  • Assist with the creation of long-term strategy and vision work efforts focused on Dart’s end point platform needs
  • Create, deploy, troubleshoot and support MSI, EXE, scripted and other types of automated application and patch installations
  • Provide application and deployment support and troubleshooting
  • Assist in deployments, software upgrades, and significant operational initiatives, including migrations of end user workstations from Enterprise Tools
  • Develop policies, processes, and procedures as it pertains to the use of EndPoint Management within an enterprise environment
  • Peer review and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance
  • Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and recommend solutions as required
  • Improve and scale the existing endpoint platforms
  • Collaborate with I.T. Security to implement end user security settings
  • Collaborate with support teams to develop and optimize OS deployment and automated build processes
  • Diagnose endpoint deployment issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Monitor the performance of managed systems, take appropriate action for critical issues and develop long term recommendations for recurring issues 


Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Requires one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree required; an emphasis in computer science, information systems, or related field of study preferred, and two (2) years of endpoint platform or related technology experience, OR
    • Associate’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field of study and four (4) years of endpoint platform or related technology experience, OR
    • High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of endpoint platform or related technology experience
  • Three (3) years of current Windows Desktop Operating Systems and technologies experience
  • One (1) year of experience with the following:
    • Policy-based configuration management (Intune/GPO)
    • Endpoint Security (Bitlocker, Defender, AIP, MBAM)
    • Windows Virtual Desktop, VDI (VMware / Citrix) creation and management
    • OS, Software, and Patch Deployment
    • Microsoft Office / Office 365, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
    • Current Windows Server technologies
    • Active Directory (on-prem/Azure environment)
    • Current IOS and technologies
  • Experience scripting using PowerShell and batch scripting languages 
  • Understanding of the following:
    • Azure runbooks / Orchestrator 
    • Citrix Virtual Application
    • Microsoft Autopilot
    • Windows as a Service (WaaS)
    • Understanding of Mobile Device Management (MDM)
    • Cloud Management Gateway (CMG)
  • Knowledge of structured cable infrastructure data networks, Linux operating systems, and Microsoft 365 tenants and Azure tenants
  • Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to identify issues, compare data, investigate, and resolve discrepancies
  • Strong verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related processes for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to travel up to 5% domestically
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
  • Additional work hours including weekends, holidays, and on-call as required
  • Availability to be on call 24/7
