Dart Container is seeking an innovative team player to do just that as our next Engineering Project Manager. In this role, you will gain company-wide exposure by leading, managing and facilitating multiple projects of large size, complexity and long duration that will involve individuals from multiple departments and levels (from individual contributors to Executives).

Our ideal Project Manager will bring a healthy balance of curiosity and initiative in brainstorming ideas and keeping projects moving forward in a timely, prioritized manner. You will work on a close-knit and supportive team within our Engineering department who are supportive and collaborative.

The position requires tremendous responsibility; occasionally curve-balls are thrown your way and we’ll need you to handle it by devising alternative solutions and keeping the project teams on track.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Develop project plan, schedules and work plans, estimate resources and costs, and track and report documents
  • Develop and maintain relationships with team members and project stakeholders
  • Monitor progress of projects, identify problems impeding progress, and participate in their resolution
  • Identify successful and unsuccessful project elements after project completion and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Mentor other engineering project managers

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Requires one of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in engineering, business, or a technical related field of study and three (3) years of related experience
    • Associate’s degree and nine (9) years of related experience
  • Knowledge of and experience using project management methodologies and software
  • Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects, and priorities
  • Ability to establish project plans, regularly monitor and track progress on work projects, and communicate with project partners
  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes
  • Ability to understand and apply financial analysis
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Work is split between an office environment, production facility, and/or warehouse depending on the project
  • Up to 25% domestic and international travel
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and favorable motor vehicle report upon hire

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Project management training or training in project management related fields to include risk, quality, and scheduling
