Dart is looking for a Graphics Project Coordinator with a strong sense of detail, to direct and collaborate with our Graphic Artists. Provide collaborative methods to create and modify this custom artwork to be printed on our products. This position will use the Adobe Creative Suite and other software applications to adapt customer art and to prepare production-ready artwork that meets our precise manufacturing specifications and customer expectations.
Responsible for coordinating custom print projects within Graphic Solutions and directing artwork optimization across a range of substrates. Serves as a key point of contact for Dart salespeople and customers for custom print projects.
Day-to-Day Role:
- Evaluate custom print requests and artwork from customers, assess potential project risks and issues, and make decisions about artwork changes
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date proficiency in all of Dart’s technical print specifications and apply that knowledge to all custom print projects
- Advise Dart salespeople and customers on all issues related to custom print (e.g. layout and design of artwork, potential printing issues, design solutions, project status, etc.)
- Direct and collaborate with Graphic Artists on layout, design, and pre-press work on custom print projects
- Verify accuracy of artwork and relevant job-specific details throughout the custom print process within Graphic Solutions
- Manage the customer proof approval process, ensuring all proofs and artwork production files meet customer expectations and Dart’s print specifications
- Coordinate special projects or other graphics-related initiatives as required
Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal Graphics Project Coordinator candidate must possess all of the following:
- Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field
- Two (2) years of experience in a role as a Graphic Designer, Art Coordinator, Graphic Project Coordinator, or similar
- Four (4) years of experience using Adobe Illustrator software and Adobe Photoshop software
- Experience with development, evaluation, and/or approval of production artwork files
- Ability to use design knowledge and creativity to develop effective solutions to print and design challenges
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent client-facing and teamwork skills
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal and external customers
- Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word and Outlook
Preferred Skills and Qualifications Graphics Project Coordinator :
- Experience with flexographic and/or dry offset printing
- Experience with 4-color process printing
