IT Communications and Training Specialist

Dart Container is on the search for an IT Communications and Training Specialist to assist with the design, development, and delivery of Information Technology communications and training materials for targeted audiences, including end users, at all levels. In this role you will ensure that technology investments are adopted at the appropriate levels.

 

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Assess, analyze, and document end user needs for technology changes, including assisting in the creation of strategies and plans
  • Create and administer feedback tools for project deliverables.  Analyze results, make recommendations for improvement, and integrate changes in deliverables
  • Research, prepare, and make revision recommendations for end user communications for projects, procedure changes, and IT-related issues
  • Create, review, and update materials and documentation
  • Establish effective working relationships throughout the organization, both within IT and across business units
  • Coordinate and communicate project schedules with end users and stakeholders
  • Provide end user support for product launches and go-lives
  • Collect organizational change data to support department key performance indicators
  • Educate end users at all levels on technology changes through a variety of mediums, which may include classroom settings, one-on-one, job aids, and online methods

 

Core Skills and Qualifications:

  • Requires one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of communications, technical writing, or organizational change management experience, OR
    • Associate’s degree and five (5) years of communications, technical writing, or organizational change management experience, OR
    • High school diploma or equivalent and seven (7) years of communications, technical writing, or organizational change management experience
  • Understanding of the context of IT projects, programs, and issues to create communications and training materials
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to explain difficult issues
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate
  • Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
  • Strong documentation and attention to detail skills for developing materials
  • Demonstrated ability to present ideas to all levels in an organization
  • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and direct the execution of tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Proven analytical problem solver
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically  
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
  • Additional work hours including weekends, primarily when traveling or when necessary to train at production facilities, as required

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in communications, organizational development, or technical writing
  • Experience with Camtasia, Adobe Suite, and SharePoint
  • Experience with technical writing
