In our IT Field Technician role, you will spend most of your time focused on troubleshooting Windows and MAC software/hardware issues and large projects, such as PC hardware replacement and support.

You will deliver top-notch customer service interacting with staff, internal and external customers and management. In this role, you will:

  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware and software, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products.  Ensure all setup parameters meet corporate standards
  • Perform analysis, diagnose, and resolve PC problems either on-site or via remote access.  Make recommendations and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, help desk tickets, and/or e-mails regarding PC and/or hardware problems
  • Maintain accurate records of projects, tasks, and time spent by utilizing the appropriate IT software
  • Assist in configuring and supporting mobile devices including iOS, Android and Windows
  • Perform minor structured wiring repairs and punch downs
  • Assist computer support personnel with hardware testing and deployment
  • Communicate with internal customers via email to keep them apprised on the status of requests
  • Conduct research on computer products in support of PC procurement and development efforts
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information; adhere to company security policies
  • Adhere to company software licensing policies and practices


In addition, Mid level will:

  • Provide training and support to end users and staff on computer operation and other issues
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs
  • Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal


Core Skills and Qualifications:


Both levels must possess:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to clearly explain options and solutions to end-users
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Ability to interact professionally with staff, internal/external customers, and management
  • Ability to maintain composure when faced with stressful situations
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and/or internationally
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and passport
  • Ability to work additional work hours including weekends
  • Favorable motor vehicle report upon hire


The associate level candidate must also possess:

  • One (1) year of work experience providing computer support
  • Familiarity with the basic use and functions of the Microsoft Office suite of applications


The mid-level candidate must also possess the following:

  • Three (3) years of work experience providing computer support
  • Technical certification (i.e. A+ certification) or computer support training gained through formal education


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree with an emphasis in computer support, networking or related field of study
  • Technical certification (i.e. A+ certification)
  • Familiarity with desktop operating systems including Windows, OS X
  • Familiarity with mobile operating systems including iOS, Android, Blackberry, and Windows
  • Fluency in a foreign language
