Internal IT Auditor - Associate or Mid Level

SUMMARY FOR ALL EMPLOYEES IN THIS ROLE
The Associate IT Internal Auditor will participate in the execution of technical information technology audits and related internal controls projects as directed. Areas of focus include cybersecurity, cloud-based initiatives, SAP, infrastructure, and other technical topics.  Complete testing and related documentation under the guidance of a Senior IT Internal Auditor or IT Audit Manager, and respond promptly to review comments.

 

MID-LEVEL: IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE SUMMARY 
The IT Internal Auditor will participate in the planning and execution of technical information technology audits and related internal controls projects as directed. Areas of focus include cybersecurity, cloud-based initiatives, SAP, infrastructure, and other technical topics. Independently complete testing and related documentation under the supervision of the IT Audit Manager, respond promptly to review comments and assist with reporting of results to IT Stakeholders.

 

Day-to-Day Role:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ALL EMPLOYEES IN THIS ROLE
•    Apply internal audit methodologies, tools, and techniques to assess internal control effectiveness.
•    Contribute to research of technical concepts and specific system details
•    Demonstrate appropriate professional skepticism by asking clarifying questions and analyzing information presented by management
•    Discuss audit testing results and appropriate action plans addressing risk areas with the process owners and management of the area audited
•    Execute project plan and audit tests to assess the adequacy of the company’s internal controls, including information system controls in a timely and thorough fashion
•    Identify opportunities for continuous monitoring 
•    Manage time and effort appropriately to complete multiple assignments concurrently within established deadlines
•    Produce audit documentation that clearly explains the objectives, work performed, and conclusions reached
•    Understand how assigned project tasks relate to overall business objectives and risks
•    Utilize an understanding of risk to identify and communicate opportunities for improving existing business processes, strengthening the control environment, and remediating/correcting audit findings

 

MID-LEVEL: IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
•    Develop and execute audit project plans and audit tests to assess the adequacy of internal technology controls, in a timely and thorough fashion
•    Work with process owners in a control consulting capacity to implement controls, answer questions and facilitate building improved controls 

 

LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ALL EMPLOYEES IN THIS ROLE
•    No supervisory responsibilities

 

Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES FOR ALL EMPLOYEES IN THIS ROLE
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Tax, Economics, Business, or related areas
•    Ability to collaborate with team members
•    Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision 
•    Basic understanding of the areas of IT auditing and controls, IT Security or IT consulting
•    Demonstrated interest in risk and technology.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to present work results in an effective and persuasive manner and the ability to listen effectively. 
•    Microsoft Excel skills to include the ability to create spreadsheets (e.g., formulas such as V-lookup, graphs, pivot tables)
•    Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy

 

MID-LEVEL: IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 
•    Two (2) years of experience required in the areas of IT auditing, IT Security, or consulting.  
•    Experience with deploying Data Analytics and use of Analytic Tools such as Power BI

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL EMPLOYEES IN THIS ROLE
•    Up to 30% domestic and international travel 
•    Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
•    Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
•    This position is eligible for hybrid scheduling, allowing up to two days per week working from home.  A minimum of three days per week must be spent working on-site.

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications For All Employees:
•    Experience with data analytic tools such as Power BI
•    Familiarity with SAP
•    Professional certification or progress towards certification (e.g., CIA, CISA, CISSP)
Mid-Level: In Addition to the Above Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
•    Audit or IT related certifications (e.g., CIA, CISA or CISSP) or progress towards certification
•    Experience Auditing Network Infrastructure and Cybersecurity processes 
•    Familiarity with SAP controls
