Promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the company by emphasizing performance improvements and leading problem solving and process optimization efforts 

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Lead, manage, and facilitate broad company-wide process, performance improvement, and lean initiatives
  • Develop and convey broad, advanced conceptual ideas, and propose and persuade several diverse stakeholders, including the executive team
  • Conceive, develop, and support implementation of continuous improvement plans that affect efficiency, quality, safety, or service
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing results, opinions, conclusions, and recommendations
  • Provide the structure, processes, and tools to support a variety of improvement efforts
  • Facilitate advanced problem solving and analysis of specific improvement opportunities leading to the implementation of effective sustainable solutions
  • Promote the use of data and metrics for identifying improvement opportunities
  • Apply data and metrics to problem solving and process improvement activities
  • Assist and support launching the Operational Excellence framework for Continuous Improvement within manufacturing plants and/or other functions
  • Apply analytical tools to identify and eliminate waste and inefficiencies across the company
  • Provide training and employee development in areas such as process improvement, problem solving, and root cause analysis
  • Assist in the identification and sharing of best practices across the organization
  • Serve as a cross-functional liaison to identify and involve appropriate subject matter experts

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Requires one of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business or similar field and five (5) years of manufacturing related work with demonstrated experience in Continuous Improvement and/or Operational Excellence
    • Associate's degree and  eight (8) years of manufacturing related work with demonstrated experience in Continuous Improvement and/or Operational Excellence
    • High School Diploma and fourteen (14) years of engineering and manufacturing related work with demonstrated experience in Continuous Improvement and/or Operational Excellence
  • Two (2) years of experience leading team improvement efforts in business processes and/or production facilities
  • Requires understanding of the relationship between improvement activities and performance measures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to learn and understand thermoforming, injection molding, print, and/or paper equipment and processes
  • Ability to learn and understand materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Ability to successfully prioritize, and manage large, complex projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments
  • Ability to drive and lead change
  • Work is split between an office environment, lab environment or production facility depending on the project
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time domestically and/or internationally with periods of travel up to 75% of the time
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools
