Dart Container is seeking an Operational Excellence Leader to help lead the continuous improvement initiatives designed to eliminate non-value added activities while improving operational excellence throughout our manufacturing and corporate departments.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Lead, manage, and facilitate broad company-wide process, performance improvement, and lean initiatives through the Operational Excellence framework for Continuous Improvement within manufacturing and administrative functions
  • Conceive, develop, and support implementation of continuous improvement plans that affect efficiency, quality, safety, or service
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing results, opinions, conclusions, and recommendations
  • Provide the structure, processes, and tools to support a variety of improvement efforts
  • Facilitate advanced problem solving and analysis of specific improvement opportunities leading to the implementation of effective sustainable solutions
  • Promote the use of data and metrics for identifying improvement opportunities and problem solving activities 
  • Apply analytical tools to identify and eliminate waste and inefficiencies across the company
  • Assist in the identification and sharing of best practices across the organization

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Requires one of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business or similar field and five (5) years of manufacturing related work with demonstrated experience in Continuous Improvement and/or Operational Excellence
    • Associate's degree  and  eight (8) years of manufacturing related work with demonstrated experience in Continuous Improvement and/or Operational Excellence
    • High School Diploma and fourteen (14) years of engineering and manufacturing related work with demonstrated experience in Continuous Improvement and/or Operational Excellence
  • Two (2) years of experience leading team improvement efforts in production facilities
  • Two (2) years of hands on experience using Lean tools-Value Stream mapping, Waste Identification, Problem Solving (PDCA), Kaizen, implementing 5S in either manufacturing and/or transactional processes
  • Requires understanding of the relationship between improvement activities and performance measures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to successfully prioritize, and manage large, complex projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments
  • Requires the ability to travel up to 40% of the time domestically and/or internationally with periods of travel up to 75% of the time
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certification in 6-Sigma Black Belt or Lean Master in Manufacturing
