The Director of Pricing III leads a high‑performing pricing team responsible for day‑to‑day pricing decisions and strategic guidance for high‑volume, complex deals within an assigned Business Unit. This role is critical to maximizing revenue, optimizing profitability, winning and retaining business, and ensuring long‑term customer satisfaction through disciplined, data‑driven pricing strategies.

 

This leader partners closely with Business Unit and cross‑functional stakeholders to drive profitable growth, mitigate deal risk, and strengthen competitive positioning.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and oversee pricing activities for a high volume of complex deals with key accounts
  • Manage pricing operations and ensure compliance with product line pricing strategies
  • Determine customer‑specific pricing and terms & conditions based on detailed cost and profitability analysis
  • Partner cross‑functionally (Sales, Finance, Product, Operations, Marketing) to deliver competitive pricing solutions that drive profitable growth
  • Develop and support pricing strategies aligned with business objectives and market dynamics
  • Provide performance metrics and insights (quote outcomes, deal performance, customer feedback) to inform product and business strategy decisions
  • Advise Business Unit leadership on innovative and strategic pricing approaches for complex deals
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate deal‑related risks
  • Support long‑term profitability initiatives in partnership with Business Unit leadership
  • Review and evaluate sales requests related to promotions, trade shows, and customer marketing support
  • Recommend pricing, promotion, and terms & conditions adjustments based on market and performance data
  • Provide pricing input for new product launches
  • Collaborate with the Pricing Excellence team to drive continuous process improvements
  • Foster a continuous improvement culture focused on customer satisfaction and competitive advantage

 

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing and executing complex pricing strategies with demonstrated results
  • Previous people leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of modern pricing practices, methodologies, and tools
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving skills
  • Results‑driven mindset with a strong sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated business acumen; experience in manufacturing and/or consumer packaged goods preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and business priorities
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and consistency
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), including creation of reports and presentations
