What You Will Do:
- Set up, operate, test, and troubleshoot production equipment
- Adjust machinery to meet tolerances and interpret drawings, schematics, and bills of material
- Diagnose and repair mechanical systems using hand and power tools
- Monitor equipment, collect data, and assist in calibrating, testing, and repairing instruments
- Fabricate and modify mechanical components
- Support engineers to improve cycle-time, yield, cost, quality, safety, and compliance
- Lead process failure investigations and technical troubleshooting
- Collaborate on projects and recommend process improvements
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, quality, and safety
- Mentor and guide team members for skill development and growth
What You Will Need:
- Requires one of the following:
- Associate’s degree with an emphasis in a mechanical or manufacturing process program and three (3) years of manufacturing equipment and processes, mechanical or machine maintenance and installation experience, OR
- High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of manufacturing equipment and processes, mechanical or machine maintenance and installation experience
- Proficiency in using powered and manual hand tools such as soldering iron, multimeter, wrench, hammer, screwdriver, etc.
- Math skills to include decimals and fractions
- Ability to read and understand blueprints or drawings including, but not limited to manuals, catalogues, schematics, or prints
- Prior experience troubleshooting and repairing production tooling and equipment and testing equipment
- Familiarity with, or ability to learn various statistical and quality methodologies such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Statistical Quality Control (SQC), 5S, 8D, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), and Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Understanding of production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of products
- Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes
