Dart is looking for a seasoned professional to join our active, fast-paced team as a Facilities Engineer. You'll be responsible for the design and construction of capital building projects company-wide - did we mention Dart has over 30 locations worldwide? As you manage each project, you will gather information to prepare the scope, plan the improvements, gain funding, and ultimately manage the execution of the project including the management of consultants and contractors. Your work will range from enhancing facilities for production equipment in corporate and manufacturing environments to ground-up building construction...and everything in between!

Day to Day Role:

  • Identify, analyze, justify, and implement initiatives of moderate scope in the areas of building construction projects, utility management, and infrastructure
  • Manage multiple projects as a project manager by requesting and securing resources, working with others, and meeting schedule, cost and quality objectives
  • Manage external engineering consultants, construction managers, and contractors
  • Communicate effectively to all levels within the corporation and with external developers, contractors, and vendors
  • Receive and review program requirements, work with suppliers to obtain information and quotes, and generate specifications
  • Work with other personnel in Facilities Engineering and other departments to improve design, processes, and facilities
  • Actively participate in strategic planning of new facility development and utilization
  • Coordinate construction contracts, equipment purchases, and vendor services
  • Seek opportunities to improve facilities as it relates to safety, efficiency, service, and quality
  • Coordinate and/or participate in the conception and implementation of designs
  • Prepare designs and plans using computer aided design program in compliance with established standards
  • Document and track technical changes and/or improvements

 

Core Skills and Qualifications:

Associate Facilities Engineer Requires one of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Facility Design & Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Industrial Design experience, preferred  OR
  • Associate degree and at least two (2) years of professional design or construction management experience

Facilities Engineer requires one of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 (two) years emphasis in architecture, construction management, facility design & engineering, civil engineering, or industrial design, preferred OR
  • Associate’s degree and 4 (four) years of professional design or construction management experience

Both Levels requires all of the following:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to convey project status, issues, and potential risks.
  • Experience with project management principles to include developing project scope, creating estimates, and writing justifications
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Ability to successfully prioritize, and manage moderate, complex projects, deadlines, tasks, and teams
  • Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and favorable motor vehicle report upon hire

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • AutoCAD or similar design software experience
