Project Manager - Supply Chain

Project Managers plan and manage the implementation of business projects within the supply chain. This role will identify projects, define project schedules, determine estimated resources and costs, manage the project team and be accountable for project deliverables.  The Project Manager will also be responsible for continuously improving processes to drive value and support better business outcomes.


Day-to-Day Role:

  • Manage multiple business projects, stage gate, material set-up/readiness, scale-up efforts, scale-down efforts, and launch/post launch metrics.
  • Lead transition plans during supply chain projects to reduce disruption to customers while minimizing inventory and costs. 
  • Track ERP system set up process and ensure all updates are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work directly with the project sponsor to define project success criteria, manage the uncertainty inherent in large, complex projects and maintain visibility to the expected value of the outcome throughout the project lifecycle
  • Report out to all levels of leadership on project progress, develop risk mitigation contingencies, and escalate issues and risks in a timely manner to stay on schedule.
  • Independently and proactively mine data from multiple data sources to identify trends and patterns to generate insights for business units and senior leadership
  • Responsible for achieving financial related targets as outlined in project plans
  • Serves as the SCM Subject Matter Expert (SME) for cross functional projects.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for product transitions and dispositions.
  • Independently identify and initiate projects as needed.
  • Train and coach entry level Associate Project Managers 

 

Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Requires one of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of project management or related experience
  • Experience with a range of project management methodologies, software, and communications
  • Superior presentation and communication skills to all levels of the organization
  • Proven leadership, team management, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience leading a team of people to achieve a desired outcome, project or otherwise
  • Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, work teams and leadership to achieve project results
  • Experience successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Tactical understanding of product costs and business team process
  • Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, frequent ambiguity, and multiple competing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude.
  • Dynamic, self-motivated, and self-sufficient with ability to cope with pressure and comfort with ambiguity
  • PMP Certification, preferred 

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Project management or related fields.
  • SAP experience
  • Exposure and strong understanding of multiple Supply Chain and other business disciplines (Purchasing, Manufacturing, Logistics, R&D, etc.) in previous positions or project work
