Day-to-Day Role:
- Develop knowledge of processes, equipment, materials, and products
- Monitor, validate, inspect, analyze, and test quality of products and processes
- Assist in investigating non-conformance issues to determine root cause and corrective action
- Assist in implementing corrective actions
- Create, maintain, and review quality documentation
- Capture, record, track, and report on statistical and test data and other quality related documentation
- Assist in developing inspection criteria, methods, and procedures for products and/or testing equipment
- Assist quality technicians and engineers in developing new test methods or gauges/equipment
- Assist in developing production facility quality control training programs
- Provide technical support to engineers to achieve improvements in cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance of production and operations processes
- Collaborate with production personnel and other departments to gather information and draft reports, and improve equipment, processes, and products
- Assist in internal or external quality audits and field investigations as needed
Core Skills and Qualifications:
Quality Technician I ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent with technical training or experience in manufacturing equipment and processes or quality
- Ability to identify and investigate issues, and review, compare, and complete simple analysis
- Excellent visual and color acuity required
- Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions
- Familiarity with, or ability to learn various statistical and quality methodologies including but not limited to Statistical Process Control (SPC), Statistical Quality Control (SQC), 5S, 8D, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), and Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Ability to learn and understand production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of products
- Good verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes
- Up to 25% domestic travel depending on department or team
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Requires a valid driver’s license and favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
Quality Technician II ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
- Requires one of the following:
- Associate’s degree with an emphasis in a quality control or engineering and one (1) year of manufacturing equipment and processes or quality experience, OR
- High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of manufacturing equipment and processes or quality experience
- Ability to identify and investigate issues, recognize trends, and review, compare, and complete analysis
- Excellent visual and color acuity required
- Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions
- Familiarity with various statistical and quality methodologies including but not limited to Statistical Process Control (SPC), Statistical Quality Control (SQC), 5S, 8D, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), and Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Understanding of production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of products
- Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing or laboratory environment
