Senior IT Governance Analyst

This position is open to our hybrid schedule of 3 days on site at our corporate office in Mason, Michigan, and up to 2 days remote.


The Senior IT Governance Analyst will lead the coordination and improvement of the Third-Party Risk Management program and will participate in Information Security, and COBIT aligned policies and procedures.


Day to Day Role:

  • Promote the benefits of IT Governance
  • Build and mature the Third-Party Risk Management program
  • Engage IT process owners in regularly scheduled IT governance activities
  • Lead annual process maturity/capability assessments
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative analysis on IT processes
  • Develop process improvement plans and/or process roadmaps
  • Regularly maintain policy and procedure documentation
  • Conduct education classes and workshops on the value of IT Governance, the tools being used, and each person’s role in the process
  • Work with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit response and track corrective actions to completion
  • Work with process owners to regularly collect process metrics (KPIs, SLAs) and artifacts that demonstrate process compliance and process improvement, in support of performance management and audit activities
  • Support effective integration between various IT groups by suggesting and driving process improvement through the governance process
  • Educate IT process owners on effective methods to document procedures, policies, job aids, training materials, and other documentation based on approved templates and industry best practices
  • Maintain familiarity with frameworks, operational models, technologies, and compliance issues

Core Skills and Qualifications

  • Requires one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in computer science, management information systems, or related field of study and five (5) years of experience in IT Governance, Risk and Compliance functions, OR
    • High school diploma or equivalent and seven (7) years of experience in IT Governance, Risk and Compliance functions
  • Experience in managing IT audits
  • Thorough understanding of best practices in IT Infrastructure, Networking, Operations, Information Security, Application Lifecycle Management, Project Management, and Change Management
  • Knowledge of and experience in Third-Party Risk Management, COBIT, and CIS Framework best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to explain difficult issues
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong work relationships
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to collaborate with team members
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Proven analytical problem solver
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools
  • Ability to travel up to 5% domestically
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
  • Additional work hours including weekends and holidays as required

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • One or more of the following certifications COBIT Foundation or COBIT Implementation, CISA, or CGEIT certified
