Our team works closely with senior leadership to help with people and process related actions to help the company reach both long term and annual strategic goals. This includes helping business leaders acclimate to new work areas, proactively and effectively managing change and improving communication across teams. Our OD Specialist also oversees and delivers HR programs such as performance management, succession planning and engagement surveys. 

 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Subject matter expert on assigned programs and providing consultation to customers within the business
  • HR resource for conducting research on HR topics, summarizing information found, and making recommendations for a plan of action
  • Project leader for large scale, functional and organizational change management projects

Core Skills and Qualifications

The ideal mid-level candidate Organizational Development Specialist will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree with five (5) years of hands-on experience in HR / Organizational Development and successfully managing, developing, and implementing programs, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and/or implementing two (2) or more of the following areas: Career Planning, Team Building, Workforce Planning, Succession Planning, Assessments and Surveys, Performance Management, Change Management, Process Improvement, Recognition/Reward

The ideal senior-level Organizational Development Specialist candidate will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree with eight (8) years of hands-on experience in HR / Organizational Development and successfully managing, developing, and implementing programs, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Three (3) years of experience leading large-scale HR and/or change management projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing and/or implementing (4) or more of the following areas:
    • Career Planning, Team Building, Workforce Planning, Succession Planning, Assessments and Surveys, Performance Management, Change Management, Process Improvement, Recognition/Reward
  • Experience presenting programs to employees at all levels of the organization
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience researching HR topics and preparing analysis of findings with recommendations

Both levels require:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to explain technical or difficult issues
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 20% of the time

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and/or master's degree in business, Human Resources, or related field (Industrial/Organizational Psychology, HR Development or similar)
  • Experience in leading large-scale HR and/or change management projects
  • PHR or SPHR
