Tax Planning Analyst


Assist with the development and implementation of various tax-planning strategies for the company and the Dart family including consultation on a range of federal, international, and state/local tax issues. 


Senior Tax Planning Analyst


Assist with the development and implementation of various tax-planning strategies for the company and the Dart family including consultation on a range of federal, international, and state/local tax issues


Day-to-Day Role:


Tax Planning Analyst


•    Assist with the development, evaluation, and implementation of international/federal/state/local tax optimization and cash flow strategies
•    Assist with various tax aspects of acquisitions and other business development transactions including reviewing optimal legal entity and financing structures, working within the tax department on modeling proposed transactions, analyzing tax due diligence, and reviewing legal agreements documenting the transaction’s tax treatment
•    Support the work of external tax, legal, and other advisors including reviewing opinions and maintaining relationships
•    Assist with providing tax advice, feedback and solutions to the Dart family, the corporate finance team, and operating business executives to ensure the consideration of tax implications in the design of capital planning alternatives
•    Review tax strategies including reconciling technical concerns and tax objectives with the needs of the business
•    Research and document key tax technical issues affecting the company and Dart family 
•    Identify and assist with implementing appropriate tax risk-mitigation measures
•    Monitor pending and enacted tax legislation in assigned jurisdictions   
•    Maintain and expand current knowledge of emerging tax issues
•    Assist with advising on a diverse range of domestic and international tax issues related to entity formation and continuation including S corporations, consolidated C corporation groups, disregarded entities, partnerships, and trusts
•    Review and document extraordinary tax return considerations and disclosures

 

Senior Tax Planning Analyst


•    Assist with the identification, development, evaluation, and implementation of international/federal/state/local tax optimization and cash flow strategies
•    Assist with all tax aspects of acquisitions and other business development transactions including analyzing optimal legal entity and financing structures, working with business leads on modeling proposed transactions, analyzing tax due diligence, and reviewing legal agreements documenting the transaction’s tax treatment
•    Support the work of external tax, legal, and other advisors including reviewing opinions and maintaining relationships
•    Provide tax advice, feedback and solutions to the Dart family, the corporate finance team, and operating business executives to ensure the consideration of tax implications in the design of capital planning alternatives
•    Analyze moderate to complex tax strategies including reconciling difficult technical concerns and tax objectives with the needs of the business
•    Research and document key tax technical issues affecting the company and Dart family 
•    Identify and implement appropriate tax risk-mitigation measures
•    Monitor pending and enacted tax legislation in assigned jurisdictions   
•    Maintain and expand current knowledge of emerging tax issues
•    Advise on a diverse range of domestic and international tax issues related to entity formation and continuation including S corporations, consolidated C corporation groups, disregarded entities, partnerships, and trusts
•    Analyze and document extraordinary tax return considerations and disclosures

 

Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:


Tax Planning Analyst


•    Bachelor's degree required with an emphasis in accounting, preferred
•    Certified Public Accountant or Juris Doctorate degree
•    Licensed to practice as a CPA or in law in one of the fifty states
•    Three (3) years of tax experience (post education)
•    Strong research and documentation skills including preparation of tax memorandums
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain financial issues in order to assist with persuading and influencing decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams
•    Proven analytical problem solver 
•    Self-motivator with proven track record of undertaking significant issues
•    Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Visio

 

Senior Tax Planning Analyst

 

•    Bachelor's degree required with an emphasis in accounting, preferred
•    Certified Public Accountant or Juris Doctorate degree
•    Licensed to practice as a CPA or in law in one of the fifty states
•    Four (4) years of tax experience (post education)
•    Experience with partnerships and consolidated C tax laws
•    Familiarity with common non-recognition provisions of the Internal Revenue Code
•    Excellent research and documentation skills including preparation of tax memorandums
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain financial issues in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams
•    Proven analytical problem solver 
•    Self-motivator with proven track record of undertaking complex issues
•    Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Visio

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:


Tax Planning Analyst


•    Master’s degree with an emphasis in taxation
•    Tax planning and restructuring experience
•    Experience with S Corps and consolidated C tax laws
•    Familiarity with common non-recognition provisions of the Internal Revenue Code
