The National Account Manager is responsible for driving growth at Wakefern, Wegmans, Military & other North East Accounts. This role delivers sales, New item & display growth, and margin objectives while managing corporate, in-store and In-Field (Broker) initiatives tailored to the needs of these key retailers. Serving as the lead point of contact with buyers and merchant teams, the NAM partners cross-functionally to execute sales plans,  trade promotions, and product launches. Acting as the voice of the territory internally, this role identifies growth opportunities, strengthens customer relationships, and ensures best-in-class execution to expand Dart Containers presence across the area of responsibility.

Location Preference: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Connecticut.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Own & lead negotiation for joint business planning, key customer & sales initiatives. Develop strategies to drive brand and category growth to achieve or exceed annual sales/profit goals
  • Develop, maintain, and execute annual sales plan, margin, merchandising and new item placement plans that exceed category and competive performance for assigned accounts
  • Develop Dart Container Solo Brand and Private Label portfolios in line with distribution, pricing, merchandising, and shelving objectives established for each segment
  • Exceptional with Trade Fund Management.  Drives efficient and effective trade programs to deliver best in class return on investment, while delivering efficient trade spend. Ability to Manage Customer Trade Checkbooks.
  • Strong Working Knowledge of Sales Plan.  Work cross functionally to develop and deliver accurate sales forecasts
  • Lead Broker Management- Supervises the direction and management of the broker. Provides clear direction and is accountable for the required results.  Maintains open and frequent communications that is shared back with Dart Sales Team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works closely with Sales, Product Line Management,  Marketing, Customer Success,  and Pricing teams to ensure we drive incremental category leading profitable growth
  • Identify and define specific strategic business objectives to improve sales, share growth and enhanced profitability for both Solo brand and Private Label
  • Ability to deliver Ad-hoc financial and data analysis, including pre/post event analysis
  • Analytical Skills.  Experience with Syndicated data. Must be comfortable working, understanding and leveraging multiple data sources
  • Build, Elevate and Strengthen relationships across all customer levels as well as internal cross functional constituents at Dart Container

Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • 5+ years sales experience in the CPG industry, with at least 3 years managing national accounts relationships. Key Northeast customer experience preferred
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth, operating with Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proven ability to cultivate, build and  leverage relationships with both Customers and internal decision-makers to accelerate business growth and build strategic, long-term partnerships. 
  • Strong ability to leverage insights and create compelling selling stories in presentations designed to build trust, demonstrate value, and differentiate our offerings   
  • Skilled in planning, prioritization, and problem-solving to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Self Starter with growth mindset and Strong followup skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to balance multiple projects at once
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to explain technical, financial, etc. issues

  • Proficiency Microsoft Office® applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI, and TPM tools
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
