Day-to-Day Role:

  • Assembles and wires complicated controls for prototype and production equipment
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numerical controls, power supplies, drives, computers, telephone systems, cameras, Zebra label printers, RF scanners, gages and test equipment.
  • Reads and interprets electrical and control assembly and machine wiring drawings as well as material bills and other reference materials.
  • Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
  • Conducts advanced level bench tests on electrical control assemblies.
  • Diagnoses and corrects basic electrical assemblies and machine control panels at bench and on completed machine assemblies using digital multi-meters and oscilloscopes. 
  • Completes purchase orders and other required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
  • Operates and tests production and experimental control systems.
  • Supports maintenance and production personnel in troubleshooting electrical problems on production equipment.
  • Reviews electrical assembly procedures and makes recommendations for improving quality and efficiency.


Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:


  • Associates Degree in Electronics Technology or similar degree
  • Ability to communicate and follow instructions, this includes reading, speaking, and writing, required.
  • Three (3) years experience in a fast paced Industrial Manufacturing environment.
  • High proficiency in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of diagnostic equipment.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Advanced computer operation and PLC programming experience preferred.
  • Ability to use window based programs and operating systems or equivalent.
  • Must be flexible to work day and night shifts, weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to respond to a short notice call-in and adjusting your schedule as needed
