Product Analyst

Depending on your previous experience, you can join our company at the Associate Product Analyst or Product Analyst level.  We are seeking multiple Analysts who will align with the following Business Teams:

  • U.S. Foodservice and National Account Beverage Business
  • International

Join one of our newly developed Business Teams to assist in the development of business and product strategy, provide analytical support, and apply business sense and creativity to help identify issues, solve problems, and generate ideas.
The Associate Product Analyst will thoroughly learn a portfolio of product lines within a particular Business Team and will:

  • Learn the company’s products, distribution channels, competitors, production processes, procedures, personnel, philosophies and strategies.
  • Develop a basic understanding of our customers and markets and use information and insight to generate ideas that support business strategies.
  • Assist in the development of recommendations on pricing strategy for assigned product lines.
  • Support all aspects of product life-cycle management for assigned products including the product portfolio strategy, product management, pricing guidelines, product development, product enhancements, and SKU optimization. 

The Product Analyst will support various product lines within a particular Business Team and will: 

  • Develop a thorough understanding of our customers and markets, and use these insights to develop, and then drive successful implementation of strategies.
  • Lead and support all aspects of product life-cycle management for assigned products including the product portfolio strategy, product management, pricing guidelines, product development, product enhancements, and SKU optimization. May assume sponsor role. 
  • Make logical, data-driven recommendations incorporating company policies, procedures and philosophies.
  • In collaboration with Manager, partner with Sales to drive relationships with key customers and provide direction on product line focus areas to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Model/promote a culture of accountability within the Business team and throughout the organization.

More specifically, both levels will:

  • Accurately complete analysis by providing a clear and concise written summary of the situation with recommendations that incorporate logic and the company’s philosophies and strategies.
  • Support Manager and Business Team in managing a portfolio of products to plan and drive growth through revenue and profit-building blocks. 
  • Participate in cross-functional efforts to discover and execute cost-reduction initiatives that do not negatively impact the customer/consumer experience. 
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales on product-line marketing including brand strategy, brand standards, channel marketing messaging, and brand activation to achieve desired customer outcomes and financial results.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Supply Chain on demand planning and forecasting to achieve desired financial and customer outcomes (e.g. minimize excess inventory and maximize fill rates for key product lines).
  • Assist Business Team leadership (VP/Director/PLM) in building a robust business case to support innovation and capacity expansion efforts within assigned product lines.
  • Make recommendations and issue decisions for accounts on supplier agreements, quality, promotional funding request, and other customer needs.

Requirements and Qualifications:

The Associate Product Analyst requires:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field of study
  • Project experience demonstrating strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills acquired through education or work experience

The Product Analyst requires:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field of study
  • One (1) year experience supporting decision making in marketing, product management or general business role

Both levels require:

  • Ability to operate with sense of urgency and focus on providing exceptionally reliable customer service
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to be composed, adapt, and effectively manage tasks and projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities while meeting all assigned deadlines
  • Basic knowledge of financial concepts such as ROI, net present value, and other related analysis methods
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to clearly communicate intricate job-related processes that ultimately affect decision making
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive issues
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • SAP experience
  • Experience in the foodservice packaging or consumer packaged goods industries
