Location: Randleman, NC, US

Company: Dart Container

Lead a Workforce Transformation. Help Build the Future of a Growing Manufacturing Operation.

At Dart, we’re looking for an experienced manufacturing HR leader who thrives in fast-paced operations and has a demonstrated track record of helping organizations navigate growth, change, and transformation.

This is not a steady-state HR role. As HR Manager for our Randleman facility, you’ll partner closely with plant leadership as the operation grows, helping build the workforce, strengthen frontline leadership capability, improve retention and engagement, and create a high-performing culture focused on safety, accountability, and results.

Supporting a workforce of 310+ employees, you’ll need to be equally comfortable setting HR strategy and being hands-on with employees and leaders on the plant floor.

What You’ll Do

As HR Manager, you’ll lead the HR function for the Randleman facility and partner with Operations to support growth and deliver measurable business and workforce results.

You’ll:

  • Lead the HR strategy for a growing manufacturing facility, aligning people priorities with operational and business objectives.
  • Build and execute workforce and staffing plans to support facility growth, new operations, production-line expansions, and changing business requirements.
  • Partner with plant leadership to strengthen retention, reduce turnover, improve attendance, and increase workforce stability.
  • Lead and develop the HR team by establishing clear priorities, accountability, consistent HR practices, and individual development plans.
  • Coach and develop supervisors, team leads, and managers to become stronger people leaders, with particular emphasis on communication, performance management, accountability, and employee development.
  • Drive employee engagement through workforce outreach, stay interviews, pulse surveys, employee feedback, and targeted action plans.
  • Personally lead complex employee relations investigations and provide leaders with practical guidance on corrective action, performance management, policy application, and employment law.
  • Support organizational development, talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership-development initiatives.
  • Use workforce metrics including turnover, retention, attendance, staffing, overtime, engagement, and employee-relations trends to identify root causes and drive action.
  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition, Operations, Safety, and HR Centers of Excellence to support workforce growth and operational priorities.
  • Lead HR change-management activities associated with growth, restructuring, new operations, process changes, and workforce transformation.
  • Promote a culture centered on safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of progressive HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant HR experience.
  • Demonstrated HR leadership experience within a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial operation, with direct manufacturing plant HR experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading or supporting HR through significant operational change, such as:
    • facility expansion,
    • new production-line or operational launches,
    • high-volume workforce growth,
    • major staffing ramps,
    • restructuring or turnaround,
    • acquisitions or integrations, or
    • other significant workforce transformations.
  • Strong employee relations expertise, including personally conducting complex workplace investigations and providing leaders with objective recommendations and corrective-action guidance.
  • Practical experience applying FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and other federal and state employment laws.
  • Demonstrated experience directly leading and developing HR staff, including responsibility for priorities, performance, coaching, and development.
  • Experience coaching and influencing operational leaders and driving accountability through effective HR partnership.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze workforce data, identify trends and root causes, and translate findings into measurable actions and business outcomes.
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and change-management skills.
  • Ability and willingness to provide HR leadership for a 24/7 manufacturing operation, including supporting employees and leaders across shifts according to business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading HR within a multi-shift manufacturing facility.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing workforce growth or a significant staffing ramp.
  • Experience staffing or supporting the launch of new production equipment, lines, departments, shifts, or facilities.
  • Demonstrated improvement in measurable workforce outcomes such as turnover, retention, attendance, staffing stability, engagement, or productivity.
  • Experience developing frontline supervisors and managers during periods of significant organizational change.
  • Experience implementing new HR processes, systems, or operating models during periods of growth.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this position goes beyond maintaining HR processes. The HR Manager will help build the workforce and leadership capability needed to support Randleman’s future.

Success will include:

  • Building sustainable staffing plans that support operational growth.
  • Helping the facility successfully ramp new operations or production capacity.
  • Improving retention and workforce stability.
  • Strengthening supervisor and manager capability.
  • Building an effective, accountable HR team.
  • Increasing employee engagement and trust.
  • Handling complex employee-relations issues consistently and effectively.
  • Using workforce data to identify issues early and drive action.
  • Helping leaders successfully navigate significant organizational and workforce change.
